If you’ve messaged me and I haven’t responded, it might have been because of the Subject line you used. I’ve gotten thousands of spam e-mails with Subject lines such as “You’ll like this,” “Please read now,” “How are you,” “Hi, it’s me,” and so on.

 

If I don’t recognize the names of the senders, I delete the messages without reading them. I may well have deleted yours by mistake.

But please put something in your Subject line that lets me know you’re a real person — the name of a book you’re asking about, the name of your school, or something else specific. I answer every e-mail that’s for real. So if you haven’t heard from me, try again!
